About Me<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a 2nd year Ph.D. student in Dr Marcus Samuel’s Lab where my primary research focus is on characterizing endocarp cell layers in pod development. I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary majoring in Plant Biology. Outside of the university, I also volunteer with Alberta Health Services and the Calgary Public Library, among others. I hope to use this experience to help lead the BGSA and to help bring to light concerns that graduate students have!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a PhD candidate in Dr Greg Moorhead’s lab where I study a protein phosphatase called SLP1. I have attended the University of Calgary for 8 years now and have been involved in various organizations and clubs on campus. Outside of school, I love all kinds of sports and outdoor activities, but I mostly play baseball, currently as a member of the Calgary Giants!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a first year Masters student in the Zaremberg Lab where I am characterizing the first enzyme of the ether lipid biosynthesis pathway. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry here at the University of Calgary. Whenever I have time, you can find me outdoors with my husky!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a first year Masters student in the Rogers lab hoping to understand the adaptive potential of fish by looking at genotype-phenotype associations in thermal tolerance genes of three-spine stickleback. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking with my fur baby, lazy crag days, or any form of activity on the water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
