We understand the need to go beyond acknowledging differences and are committed to applying EDIJB principles within our team, on how we conduct our research, and how we address knowledge mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below you will find some resources on the topic. In case you need immediate support, please contact our EDIJB coordinator (<a href=\"mailto:lori.bradford@usask.ca\">lori.bradford@usask.ca<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-atomic-blocks-ab-accordion ab-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"ab-accordion-title\"><strong>DEFINITIONS<\/strong> \u2193<\/summary><div class=\"ab-accordion-text\">\n<p>Please find below definitions for some key terms, as found in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy, by the University of Saskatchewan (<a href=\"https:\/\/policies.usask.ca\/policies\/equity\/equity-diversity-inclusion.php#AuthorizationandApproval\">Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy \u2013 Policies | University of Saskatchewan (usask.ca)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Equity:<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;taking the range of human attributes and qualities into account and providing each individual with what they need to be successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Equality:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>providing each individual with the same or similar opportunities and ensuring fairness in processes and outcomes so that each individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Diversity<\/strong>:<\/em>&nbsp;the range of human differences, including diverse talents, perspectives, backgrounds, worldviews, ways of knowing, skills, and abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Man\u0101cihitowin:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>a Cree\/Michif phrase that translates to \u2018let us respect each other\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Inclusion<\/strong>:<\/em>&nbsp;ongoing practice of embracing equity, diversity, and man\u0101cihitowin and taking action to create a supportive and welcoming environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Belonging:<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;when each individual is supported, respected, and valued for their identity and unique traits that make them different from each other. With several options for acronyms representing those values, we decided it was important to disclose our option for EDIJB, as we strive for a sense of belonging for all members and participants.
