Areej Syed, the VP of Student life is a 3rd year BA student completing a degree in History (Honours) and a minor in Psychology. She is interested in Canadian 19th-century history, Early modern Europe, secularization, and popular culture. She hopes to pursue a Masters degree and Ph.D. in history to become a professor and engage other students on the importance of history. Ermia Rezaei-Afsah, the VP Academic, is a third-year BA student studying History and Social Cultural Anthropology. In History, he is primarily interested in Latin American history, Middle Eastern history, historiography, the philosophy, and theory of history. He also is interested in the study of world history, the history of fascism, cosmopolitanism, and the history of food systems. He loves to cook, watch cinema, read postmodern and Latin American fiction books in his spare time. He volunteers at a local law firm and spends time occasionally at the Provincial Courts. He hopes to pursue a Master’s in the social sciences or a JD in the future.
