We are the Serious Games Research Group at the University of Calgary, Canada, led by Dr. Richard Zhao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are interested in serious games<\/strong>: games and gaming-related technologies for the purpose of training, learning, and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We develop\u00a0artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms<\/strong> (search and machine learning) to enable adaptive and personalized experiences, and for automated content generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conept of a “game” extends beyond entertainment, as modern game engines (such as Unreal and Unity) are widely used for media production, simulations, and digital twins. We integrate XR\u00a0immersive technologies<\/strong>\u00a0(including virtual reality, eye-tracking technology) as part of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are part of the IMPACT Research Cluster<\/a> at the University of Calgary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
