Re: Interview invites and regrets sent out-UPDATE

Dear Applicants,

Thank you for your patience today and over the last few hours.

We understand the anxiety associated with this day and we certainly don’t mean to add to that anxiety. Believe it or not, this day is filled with anxiety in our office as well. As a society that relies on technology, it’s great when it works and unfortunately when it doesn’t, well today happened.

The invite process is supposed to be an automated process within UCAN. When the initial invites were supposed to be sent out by the system starting with IP applicants, a significant amount got stuck in the system but about 300 plus “went out”.

This left us with a decision to make regarding how to manage the 1400 plus applicants who at that point would have received nothing while other rushed to Canada Premed Reddit and Calgary premed 101 to post.

Option 1: Wait until Monday to try to get the automated system fixed since our UCAN vendor is on EST.

OR

Option 2: Sort through things and send things out manually.

We opted for option 2, as two of us (myself included) have worked over the last four hours to get this information out to the applicant pool.

PLEASE NOTE:
This also means that your status may not have changed in UCAN and the interview tab has not shown up. We will have this fixed for next week when the sign-up opens for the interview dates. If things change we will update you.
