Re: Contacting the Office about your transcript status

Dear applicants,

I hope you are all doing well during this final stretch towards the deadline. These are the types of posts that I dread but are necessary to ensure everyone is respecting each other as applicants, our process, and the staff within the admissions office.

Despite being stated in multiple locations, we are getting several dozen emails per day inquiring about the status of personal transcripts. These are interspersed with emails from applicants who need genuine help in completing their application. I have significant concerns about applicants who are emailing the office regarding their transcripts. I find this extremely disrespectful. This borders on our areas of concern policy.

As applicants you check off on the information page that you have read this statement:

DO NOT CONTACT THIS OFFICE to confirm our receipt of your transcripts until October 12th, 2021 . If, by that date, your file does not indicate that the transcripts have been received, contact us at ucmedapp@ucalgary.ca. Earlier queries will not be answered, as they delay the process unnecessarily.

Emails to the office from applicants inquiring about transcripts will be brought to my attention

We recognize for some of you it may be unsettling that you have sent in your transcripts and that they are not marked off as being received. Receiving, handling, and verifying transcripts is a monumental task and occurs at the same time when we are receiving hundreds of emails per day. The process isn’t as simple as “yup got it, check”

So, please, please, stop flooding the ucmedapp@ucalgary.ca with emails about transcripts.
