Dear applicants,
We recognize for some of you it may be unsettling that you have sent in your transcripts and that they are not marked off as being received. Receiving, handling, and verifying transcripts is a monumental task and occurs at the same time when we are receiving hundreds of emails per day. The process isn’t as simple as “yup got it, check”
This is why we ask you not to contact the office before October 8th. This had been our policy for several years and is not different than our colleagues to the north who have a date of October 15th.
Despite this being stated in multiple locations, we are getting several dozen emails per day. These are interspersed with emails from applicants who need genuine help in completing their application.
To alleviate any anxiety, I’ll state once again if you have couriered your physical transcripts you are on solid ground if you have kept the tracking number, for schools who are only supplying e-transcripts; if you have the correspondence with the school you are on solid ground.
Files that are closed for missing transcripts represent less than 3% of all submitted applications and are usually from applicants who have requested their transcripts after September 1. So, for all of you who requested your transcripts prior to September 1st and your institution says they have been processed no need to worry.
So, please, please, stop flooding the ucmedapp@ucalgary.ca with emails.
