Who are TAIH?
Our Objectives
The University of Calgary’s Transdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Hub (TAIH) is a collaborative research initiative dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary AI to address complex societal and technological challenges. Our goal is to bring together researchers, students, and industry partners to develop high-impact AI innovation. The TAIH fosters an inclusive and collaborative space where members from all faculties can contribute, connect, and facilitate AI research.
Human Dynamics in a Changing World
We explore how AI can model human interactions to support evolving policies, enhance decision-making, and improve adaptation in complex environments.
Reimagining The Energy Landscape
AI-driven innovations by TAIH researchers are redefining how sustainable energy infrastructure and electrical grids are modeled, planned, and operated in an era of rapid energy landscape transformation.
New Earth Space Technologies
Researchers with the TAIH apply AI to satellite imagery analysis, autonomous space robotics, and space mission plans. Our members are actively contributing to Earth observation and space exploration.
Engineering Solutions for Health
TAIH researchers apply AI to biomedical diagnostics, personalized medicine, and advancing equitable integration of AI into healthcare.
Transdisciplinary Research
Transdisciplinary Research is a central tenant of our work by design. Our researchers comprise of experts in engineering, medical applications, and social implications of AI to create inclusive and implementable research.
Our Group
Our group includes faculty members at the University of Calgary with research focuses on AI theory and applications. We welcome faculty members across all disciplines and departments to join in the initiative to collaborate and expand on the cutting edge AI research being done here, at the University of Calgary. Members of our group are expected to facilitate transdisciplinary connections, contribute to knowledge, and foster new opportunities to support AI research.
