Dear Applicants,
I hope this post finds you well. We understand and recognize that this is a busy and stressful time for all of you. This has been compounded by new learning environments and a lingering pandemic than we all wish we could leave behind.
The last file reviews came in this week and we transitioned into the process of calculating the interview decision scores to determine our interview invite rank list. While doing so it became apparent that there was an error in UCAN in calculating many of the GPAs including those that many of you agreed to when submitting your application. In some instances the GPA calculation was higher than it should have been and for some it may have been lower, while for others it was accurate. The source of the error originates with how we needed to handle the fall 2019/winter 2020 grades in response to different institutional policies on giving actual numerical/letter grades vs. CR/NCR. We are actively working with the vendor to correct these calculations.
Therefore, we will be recalculating the GPAs of all applicants in a manner that is consistent with sections 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11 of the Applicant Manual and based on your grade entry into the application as outlined in section 4.6. This is to ensure we maintain the integrity of our process and preserve a fair platform for all applicants.
As we proceed in making these corrections, the GPA you see that is associated with your application may change more than once. Please do not be alarmed by this.
We would also kindly ask that you do not email the office regarding this issue.
Thank you for your patience.
