For all those who fall into this category. As you know, as is outlined in the Applicant Manual, we usually require grad students to confer their degree by June 30th. Given the disruption caused by the pandemic we have altered our policy for this year as follows:
1. We are waiving the date to confer your degree (in other words the date you need to convocate).
2. We are moving the date in which you can complete the necessary requirements for your grad degree to September 1. We highly recommend that you try to complete all the requirements ASAP so this does not interfere with course 1. IF you are a University of Calgary student as long as you can be finished by this date you do not need to join the Leaders in Medicine Program (LIM) and if you are another institution please make arrangements with your home institution
3. PLEASE NOTE: If you indicated you would be finished your grad program on the supplemental grad form at the beginning of the application and you will not be finished by September 1st we need to know ASAP. This requirement is linked to your GPA calculation in your graduate years and we will need to recalculate the GPA as is outlined in section 6.4 of the Applicant manual. Failing to disclose this does fall under our areas of concern and even if you have matriculated this will trigger a review as is outlined in section 8.2 of the Applicant Manual.
