Dear Applicants,
I hope this email finds you well. Due to increased social distancing policies set forth by the Gov’t of Alberta and the fact that the university of Calgary is officially closed as of April 2/2020 aside from essential services it was decided to proceed with a one-way interview format. Some of you may be familiar with this format as other medical schools around the country have also used this.
Key points:
1. You should have received an email outlining the first step of the process. This is to make sure that you are comfortable with the platform and allows us to verify the identity of the applicant. If you have not received this email please contact the office ac ucmedapp@ucalgary.ca. If you encounter technical difficulties please click the question mark icon at the top right hand corner of the screen and ask for support from the vendor SPARK HIRE.
2. The length of the interview will be 30 minutes in total. This will take place between 900 am MST and 1pm MST on April 4th. Once everyone has on boarded, we will be sending out emails with your exact time.
3. As far as structure, there will be a series of scenarios and questions. For the scenarios you will have a think time of 2 minutes similar to the in-person MMI. You will have a limited amount of time to answer each question which will be displayed. You will only be allowed to record one answer (i.e. one attempt). Your videos will be distributed to assessors for scoring.
4. PLEASE NOTE: ALL LOGINS AND VIDEO ANSWERS ARE TIME STAMPED. ANY ATTEMPTS TO ENTER THE SITE OUTSIDE OF YOUR DESIGNATED TIME WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE FORFEITING OF YOUR VIRTUAL MMI SCORE
